Members ten56gibby
Believe it or not... I'd say blackout. And slap a b/w/b pickguard on that thing!
Members Midcitysaint
I'm gonna go with a 50's Tele, but it really kind of depends more on the amp than the guitar. Especially when talking about a tele. How about a Nashville?
Members Noise...
Personally, I don't like the blackout Tele's. Something about them rubs me the wrong way. Now...the classic '50s Tele is a different story.
Members MojoFilter
I own a Classic '50's. Within a very short period of time, it's become my favorite guitar, and I also own an American Deluxe Ash. I modded mine slightly (noiseless Bill Lawrence pickups, no-load tone pot and a 4-way). I had to go noiseless due to the dodgy wiring in most of the places I play, but I was very happy with the way that it sounded bone-stock. The only modification that it really needs (as is true with many Fenders) is a decent input jack...the stock one is prone to come loose and fail. I went with a domed Electrosocket with a Switchcraft jack. They screw into the Electrosocket, and are near-impossible to break. As a workhorse guitar, I'd recommend them to anyone. Here's some clips of it that I made when it was bone-stock, messing with some Rolling Stones riffs: http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=1134349&T=5925 They're pretty, too.
