Members shaft9000
this thread is about further evidence that it's the musician, not the synth that makes the difference Even the Mighty Jupiter-8 can sound weak and lame i love me some B-52's but this patch is just ..... Members tim gueguen
You do realise they're trying to imitate the Farfisa organ they recorded the sound with, right? They wanted a thin sound.
Members uvacom-rotatt
I love this song! The patch kind of sounds like a transistor organ (that's probably what they were going for, anyway). A synth that can *only* do big sounds isn't very versatile, and this song calls for a thin, cheesy sound. It would sound silly with a searing detuned sawtooth lead. The Jupiter 8 can do either one, so what's the problem? *edit* ninja'd

Members Yoozer
Of course, that's blasphemy. Using a synthesizer in ways not consistent with Scripture! Do we not read in Sinewaves II, verse 18: Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with Autotune as thou would lie with a Vocoder, to defile thyself with her. Verily, the LORD hath said that synthesizers should always make fat, wide and warm sounds. To do otherwise is an abomination.
