Members derrick
hi guys, i am looking for smaller, lighter, great sounding boxes to replace my peavey sp1gs. i prefer wood boxes because you loose sound quality with plastic boxes as far as i,ve been told. any info will be greatly appreciated. Members obgust
JBL MRX line or even better ( but more $$ ), the SRX line. We use a combination of MRX512 and MPro412 for floor monitors and a couple SRX715 for FOH tops. These are nice light weight wooden boxes ( the MPros weighing the most ) with plenty of good quality sound that requires little to no EQ'ing for our wedding band. Actually what you lose is bass output. If these are "top" boxes then this shouldn't matter at all. btw ... wood boxes by themselves is no guarantee wrt losing bass. It depends on how they are braced.
