100W @ 8 ohms ??

Hi guys,

This is probably (well definitely) a very simple question but i get confused easily :freak:

I have an amp with 100W per side @ 8ohms. I want to know what kind power i should be looking for in speakers?

and also, could i parallel smaller speakers off each side instead of two bigger cabs. i.e. tap 3 speakers in at 30W on each side of the amp?

Thanks all

CH.

i'm thinking of it for part of the climbing gym setup.

It'll be used for the upstairs mezzanine area. (This is if they don't choose to go with a totally distributed 70V system).

Amp is the built in amp on the Tascam AV-452

Specs say : Load impedance - 8 ohms, Rated output power - 80w+80w (1kHz, 1%, 8ohm), Max output power - 100w + 100w (EIA, JAITA)
