Members skaaks
I have a pair of Mackie S215 speakers that have blown compression drivers in them. What's the best way to go about replacing them? All I know about the original drivers is that they say they're '1-3/4" titanium dome compression drivers'. Do I have to replace them with the same size driver or does it matter? From what I understand I can just replace the driver part and don't need to replace the horn itself, is this correct? Also, does anyone have a suggestion of where to go to get replacements? Thanks in advance.
Members Ear Abuser
You should be able to just replace the diaphragm in the compression driver. I wouldn't try to substitutre a different driver. talk to a dealer about getting a replacement diaphragm. If you haven't replaced one before, you might want to let a tech do it for you. Members agedhorse
Mackie dealer. Have the diaphrams replaced AFTER being sure it's really the diaphrams that failed. It could be other things too.
Members skaaks
What are some of the things to look for as clues to what may have actually happened? All I know is after a show, all of the highs are extremely distorted. The main drivers still seem ok, it's only the tweeters that sound bad.
