  • A great night with the symphony

Just got home a couple of hours ago from doing sound for the local symphony's X-mas show. Augmented by members of the Reno Philharmonic, there were about 85 musicians which included a 40 member choir. Nice gig using their system with a few of my mics. placed a pair of AKG 391's and Joly modified MXL 603's on the strings, one LDC and two SDC's on the choir, Beyer M201 on the flute, one wireless for the MC. The room carried everything wonderfully.

They also had an 8 member hand-bell group from another city joining them on about 3 numbers. Only thing I'm not comfortable with yet is their Bose system which is part of the church. Weird to mix on, not like conventional speakers. I should be getting pretty familiar with it as I'm hired for all their concerts for 2013. So much better than working with Metal bands.

A&H GL2800 console, BagEnd Crystals over D-18's, 12"and 15" BagEnd and EAW wedges powered and processed by QSC, Klark, BSS, Symetrix, Valley, Sabine, Peavey and BagEnd INFRA.
