Members djiceman1575
I use the ADX51's that came with my Audix DP7 kit, and they're pretty decent, but I have a buddy of mine who recommends the Audio Technica AT4041's for overheads. He swears by them, and uses them interchangeably between overheads as well as for bluegrass shows, and picks them over the SM81. Anyone have any opinions on the AT4041, or any close recommendations? Members witesol
not a huge difference, especially for live sound. I've owned 4 of the 4041. good mic. the sm81 is a standard though. IMO, most of the newer mics are too bright. if you're doing huge gigs then the OH mics impact more of their signature. smaller gigs there could be half or more of the cymbals oh you need direct ambient or bleed tyhrough vocal mics. ADX 51s are chinese bright....
Members agedhorse
IMO, it's not going to matter one bit... way to the right of the decimal point.
