Moderators Red Ant Posted September 13, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) And here's the new one! This one is done by yours truly, and imaginatively titled "jam #2". A medium-tempo A7-D7 vamp, with a E7#9 vamp for a B section. The current backing is drums, bass & rhodes - any drummers, bassists or keyboardists with requests for "-1" versions let me know, and they can be uploaded... but for now, have at it! Moderators Red Ant Posted September 14, 2015 Author Moderators Share Posted September 14, 2015 Gismo allow me to let you in on a secret.. that stuff sounds a LOT more impressive than it actually is. Here's the whole trick - stacked 4ths. So for the left hand chord in this case, it's A-D-G. Then you just move it when you feel like it, chromatic ally or diatonically. And the right hand is the exact same deal, except arpeggiated

I love how you really lean on the Maj 3d in the 1st A section, very Coltrane-like approach to blues 2:10 to 2:17 is pure gold! The "out" stuff from about 2:40 is REALLY cool! And the stuff at the end really sings! Edited September 14, 2015 by Red Ant

Members stratovarious
Nice BT Red Ant! Jealous you can play keys as well as guitar. Here's my take: https://soundcloud.com/stratovarious/hc-jam-2. I had no idea what to play in the E7 part, so I just noodled around.

I dig the melodic stuff at the top, and I like your approach to the E7#9 as well... you treated it as a V and not a key change, which adds nice tension!
