Members TELE2000
Hi! Does anybody know something about those basses? Somebody offered me one - JB-style neck and body, one Preci-PU, one JB-PU in cherry sunburst. It has some scratches but is in an overall good condition. He wants to have 200 Euros for it. This Bass has a really nice sound, so is this price O.K. or is there anything I have to know about those basses??? Thanks! TELE2000
Members T. Alan Smith
Not quite positive about that one, but the bass I learned on was my buddy's Charvel Model 1 P, and it was a great solid workhorse of an instrument ...but it was from the late 80's as well, and one of the last good ones(U.S.). Members BlackBelt
I'm not sure if that's the model I used to play. I used to play two Charvel basses that were neck-thru-body basses, and had a P-J pickup setup. They were nice basses, and I used them for several years on the road in the 80's and 90's. They were easy to play, and the neck was a medium size, so it was a pretty fast neck. The action on those basses could be taken right down to the fretboard.I don't know if you are looking at the same model, but the ones I had were really nice.I did eventually change the pickups in them, as the Jackson pickups that came with them were okay, but I wanted/needed to go with EMG Active pickups, as they sound better to me. Members Thumper
Does it have a pointy or non-pointy headstock? Either way 200 euros is a decent price.
Members tylytle
A freind of mine has the one with the pointy head stock. I think it sounds like a six pack of ass. He loves it.
Members Thumper
Earlier non-pointy USA Charvels were pretty decent, as T Alan pointed out. I'm just not keen on pointy basses.
Members TELE2000
...sorry, but what is a "pointy headstock"??? This bass's headstock has a Preci-shape. TELE2000
Members TELE2000
...O.K., I looked it up in a dictionary! No this bass doesn't have a "pointy headstock"! As mentioned above it's Preci-like. TELE2000
