Ok so Im having this guy make my website and he wants me to pay him. He already did the logo stuff which is cool. I payed him after the fact. Now im having him create my website but should I tell him I want to see some work that hes doing before I send his paycheck or does it work that I send and then he does it and if i want it different he changes. I dont know what to do anyone ?

Any professional/respectable web designer should let you collaberate with what you want. You are paying him moeny to create for you an advertising space. I think the best thing to do is give him a basic detailed idea of what you want, the best you can, before he starts. That way if he needs to change it later it wont take as long/you'll already be on the right course.

As far as paying before or after why not just go half and half if your really nervous about it. Its a tricky thing website design and its hard to please a customer. Alot of time and work (should at least) go into making a site. Make it as easy as you can. Give him all kinda of info that you can think of. Show him a design layout on the web you like.

Just curious though how much are you paying and how many pages are being done?

Most people I know pay beforehand. But I know some designers also that allow to be paid after.

for a flash site with News, media, photos, biography, forums, links. $300... which is really good from other people ive talked to .. also hes a small local artist who did some posters that i loved and we talked about it and he said he would.
