Basically, they will not listen to demos that people just send in. They will only listen to demos from people who have contacts at the company and who have their permission to submit demos. Members BlueStrat
I want to make a demo Go ahead. There are lots of places you can send it. but it said do not send unsolicited material What or who is "it"? Regardless, they are one of a billion places you can send stuff off to. and have a submissions from known professional managers, lawyers, publishers and agents. There are lots of record companies, producers, publishers, event presenters, agencies, etc that have this policy. You just have to find ones that don't. Try the Musician's Atlas as a good place to start. www.musiciansatlas.com No offense, and please don't take this as flaming you, but if you send stuff off and your use of the English language is this poor, you will likely not get a listen to. Initial impressions are key and presentation is everything. Learn to write and communicate clearly, and use spell check. You'd be amazed at how many people get rejected simply because their cover letter is poorly written and/or hard to read. If you have a hard time with writing (a lot of people do), have someone else write it for you, or at least have them proof read what you send out before you mail it. Members nonreglA
Here is an example of a bona fide solitication: A Los Angeles-based Music Supervisor is in need of ELECTRONICA SONGS and INSTRUMENTALS a la the Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, the Prodigy, and the Crystal Method for numerous upcoming online mini-films/advertisements. She needs something upbeat, edgy, hook-filled and that includes a lot of changes. The company she works for is one of the industry leaders in these new "commercials." Directors such as Guy Ritchie, Ang Lee, and John Frankenheimer have all made such short films. BMW, GM, and Sony are just some of the major companies that have commissioned these spots. Master quality needed (meaning they will use your version - they won't re-record anything). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. Submissions must be received no later than 12 pm, Pacific Standard Time (California time), Wednesday, August 20, 2003. TAXI # D030820EL This listing is from TAXI Dispatch. If you belonged to TAXI Dispatch you would get solitications like this everyday in your email and would just submit your tunes on line.
