Members spiralfix
Anybody know how to replace the "instruments" in a midi file? Meaning, replacing the midi sounds with a .wav and still staying in key. Like maybe taking a midi led zeppelin song and replacing the sounds with something from a video game like space invaders. Members kayehl
Basically any midi sequencer will let you change instrument sounds. You just change the program number on the track. If you're playing midi files on your computer sound card, without any installed virtual synths, the sound card midi normally has 128 built in sounds to choose from. This includes a bank or two of synth sounds, and a bank of sound effects and a bank of percussion. Hope that helps.
Members kayehl
. . . and if i wanted to play back the sound with a specific .wav file, i would just record the .wav sound into my sampler and use the sampler to tune the pitch to the right key.
