Members MartinHines
I would suspect you will need to build your own. 1. Start with this Korg Karma .ins file:http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=3910 2. Open the .ins file with Windows Notepad or Wordpad (it is really just a text file) and edit the various sections with content from the micro-X voice Name List.http://www.korg.com/service/downloadinfo.asp?DID=1162
Members Cygnus64
Thanks Martin. I tried to download the pdf from the Korg site, it says "This file is damaged and cant be opened". WTF? I wouldnt have bought the product had I known this. I dont know whats wrong with manufacturers these days, first the synths are being made with tissue paper and spit, now they dont even do the BASIC stuff like instrument definitions. I dont know how to do all that stuff, and I cant even get the damn patch list from KORG. The knobs are so cheap on this thing, I think I can break them with ESP, or if I yell at them. Maybe some kind soul has already made one......... I am going to have to take the unit back if I cant figure this out quickly. I rant into this with the MM6. I wrote Yamaha and they said "keep checking our website". They really had no intention of doing it. Finally, some kind-hearted MM6 user made one and shared it with me. I sent an email to Korg and just got an auto-response. It had a link to their website. Ummmmmm, thats the website where I got your email address, dumbasses. Note to Korg and Yamaha: YOU SUCK. Man, we need some americans to make some frickin Romplers too, with instrument definitions and phones that dont ring in India.
Members Cygnus64
I am taking it back on Monday. I cant even download the god damn patch list. Korg could pay a 14 year old kid 5 bucks to make definitions. That's crappy. I will try for the next two days to scour the net but I am running into no luck. Its utterly useless to me without them, it might as well be a paperweight. Back it goes.
Members MartinHines
now they dont even do the BASIC stuff like instrument definitions. I can't remember the last time I saw a manufacturer make Cakewalk Instrument Definitions. Given the different DAWs these days manufacturers just don't bother. Members Cygnus64
Wow, thanks for that work Martin, I really appreciate it. Uhhh, I took it back. A few things I didnt like: 1. It was getting really hot. 2. I couldnt deal with the screen or the 25 keys. It was too big to be so small. If it was a module, its a module. I just kept doing everything in the same key:D It took up more room than I expected, so I thought I might as well have a real keyboard and got an X50. Thanks do much for the effort, that was very kind of you. After I play with this baby, I will write a comparision of the two. I, I already have definitions for this one. Members MartinHines
so I thought I might as well have a real keyboard and got an X50. I already have definitions for this one. If you already have an .ins file for the X-50, open it up using Windows WordPad and spend 5 minutes looking at the structure -- it is pretty straightforward. Yeah, I agree with you on the screen. I just just bought a Micro X and even though it is red(big whooppee) I still have to use frickin' reading glasses to see the damn thing! I get neck and back cramps after trying to lean over and use it for any period of time. The sounds are great in it but in this day and age I cant believe Korg still puts these tiny screens in new keyboards? My telephone has a bigger display in it. 25+ years of making keyboards and we still have to look at these, to try and navigate the keyboard. Unbelievable. Members Cygnus64
I wish they had a 61-Key microX, or at least a 49 key with a screen that you can see. If you already have an .ins file for the X-50, open it up using Windows WordPad and spend 5 minutes looking at the structure -- it is pretty straightforward I'm slow, my mother dropped me in the swimming pool. Me dumb:D I looked at it, I suppose I could figure it out. I may not have the time, I have a brutal work schedule coming up. I was able to download and open the micro-X Voice Name List fine. I was able to eventually. At the time I tried, something was wrong and I assume on their end, I tried later and it worked.
Members JMVaas01
I created the .ins file for the Korg microX. To download the instrument definition file, follow this link: http://www.mediafire.com/?bm3yn4msx3v Enjoy.
