Members tenoken
Hello everyone! Does anyone have this model of Dr. Sample? I picked one up on eBay the other day, and I LOVE IT! Yes, it is VERY limited compared to the 303, 404, etc and the MPC line. But for what I want to do, it's just about perfect. Only problem is: not enough internal memory! I desperately need to acquire a memory card or 2. It takes an out-of-production Smart Card - 2mb or 4mb, 5v. Does anyone have a card they'd be willing to sell? They look like this: Note, the more common Smart Cards (with gold face up) have a reversed configuration, with the angled corner on the right side. And those are 3.3 v, not 5v. PM me if you want. Thanks!
Members Meatball Fulton
I see two 2 MB 5V cards on eBay right now with BIN of $25 and $30 (plus shipping, ouch). Yeah, that seems sad when you can buy 2GB of SD, xD or CF for the same money...this is the curse of using "standard" data storage in musical instruments. The instruments last longer than the supply of storage devices. Off to eBAy and good luck!
Members tenoken
Yeah, eBay it had to be. It's just crazy that a 6 year old device uses memory that is now extinct! Never thought it would be such a hassle. But man, I've been wanting one of these machine for years. I just love the casing and layout. Anyway, I found a seller with 3 'factory-sealed' 2mb cards for about $50. I took the plunge on that 3-pack, since it's cheaper than $25 a piece, and now I can save more clips with multiple cards.
