Members Pr3Va1L
Very low latency... It's mostly about your sound card. And you CPU speed if you're using a synth... Use ASIO and you can probably get it under 15-20 ms...

Members Pr3Va1L
Well, with the stock sound card on any computer, with ASIO4ALL you can get it under 15ms..Worst case scenario. I know I get less than that with my X-Station in Sonar 6....
Members Sparkytfl
Before I realised I had it set wrong, I was getting at least a tenth or a quarter of a second delay between hitting a key on a midi board and hearing the softsynth make a noise. Now that it's set right, I can't detect any delay. I'm not sure how to figure out how much it is exactly. Sonar says my mixing latency is 1.5ms at 44.1k, or 0.3ms at 192k. Don't know if that's the same thing. I'm using the $100ish m-audio card with the RCA ins and outs on the back. AMD x2 3800, 2gigs ddr400. Win XP. http://sparkytfl.no-ip.org/Desktop.html

Members Sparkytfl
I may have to make my buffer size a bit more and hurt my latency number. I was just playing around with some softsynths and really listening, and could hear some crackling.
