Microkorg volume problem

Recently I've found that some of my microKorg's programs will play at very low volume, nearly inaudible. I've tried resetting all the programs back to factory presets, but the problem persists. It only affects some of the programs, while others can be heard just fine. The microKorg is nearly brand new, and I suspect it's not a technical problem but rather some setting that I've messed with that has caused this. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well there's two problems with that:

Firstly, I'm at home for winter break and don't have my MIDI->USB adapter.

Secondly, I could never get it to connect to my Macbook or my PC. Garageband wouldn't recognize it (though I've tried every possible setting combination I can think of on the MK), and on my PC the editing software wouldn't recognize it.

Then you better fix those two problems first then, huh?

Or you could spend hours going through all the menus, and that won't even do much good if you don't know how everything is related. Your choice.

The sound follows a specific path. All you have to do is check everything along that path, one step at a time, from OSC to output. Nearly every parameter can affect that path, so using the software lets you see a whole page of parameters at a time, organized by how they're related and flow.

perhaps those patches have their respective levels turned down? choose Amp on Edit Select knob 1, and then adjust the 1/Cutoff knob to ensure that the patch's level is sufficiently high enough.

if that's not it, are you running the mK in stereo? if not, you might be losing some volume on patches that pan between the left and right channels. and while we're on the subject, check all outputs on the mK and see if this behavior persists: if you're using both of the L & R channels, try switching to the headphone output and see if the levels are still doing the same thing, or vice versa.

hope that helps, or at least, helps you narrow it down a bit. good luck!
