Standalone effects unit similar to JD-800 internal effects?

I've got a Roland S760 and I'm curious if Roland ever made a standalone effects unit similar in sound to the effects unit in the JD-800....perhaps using the same algorithms / same DSPs, +/- some modes. I would bet they did, maybe under the Boss name.....

I've got a Boss SE-50, and it's not it.

The idea is to replicate as much of the JD-800 sound as possible using the S760. It would be interesting if it had a digital input and output, because I could then at least try to use the DA-400 (same D/A converters as in the S760) for the analog output.

Any ideas?

Not sure for all the FX in one box. I've got an SX700 and that doesn't do it. The SRV3030 reverb sounds good (better) but doesn't have the other FX (delay etc). I just love the way the way the JD800 reverb tail fades out in a digital, but also nice way.

For me the hardest parts to reproduce have been the distortion modes, the Enhancer, and Spectrum (parametric EQ).

I totally agree about the JD-800's Reverb. Absolutely love it!

I've always wanted to be able to sample anything into the JD-800's engine. The S760 gets you close! The missing link is the effects....

Stumbled on my own post trying to solve an old mystery. :) So, to anyone interested or Googling this info:

It turns out the BOSS SE-50 uses the same DSP chip as the JD-800 (BOSS R15239120).

However, that's practically it. As I stated earlier, the algorithms are different, as is the dual sampling rate in the SE-50 (based on the algorithm, 32Khz or 48Khz compared to JD-800's 44.1Khz). The SE-50 doesn't sound at all like the JD-800 effects to my ear, so I don't think the DSP chip makes them anything more than "related".

I suppose there's still a chance that the R15239120 made an appearance in another Roland / Boss effect product, which might share more in common with the JD-800's effects. I haven't given up!
