Members Allerian
Took the kids to the Discovery World museum where I had a chance to spend time with a Haken Continuum, Jazzmutant Lemur, and Reactable. They also had a little selection of circuit bent stuff. Continuum: Not what I expected - the playing surface is some kind of heavy felt. The experience seems to be about "squishing" your atonal music out of this thing. Lemur: Woulda seemed cool about five years ago. Reactable: Doh. This was way, way cool. Cooler than any video I've seen. Physically tweaking and then dragging a filter between instruments is amazing. Super interactive. I may need to build one. Once you are quite good, it removes a lot of the limitations a keyboard places on you. It takes practice, like any new instrument. -D
Members llamastorm
if only the Continuum was more like a giant iPhone running BeBot, except with aftertouch and velocity. *that*
