....Also are there any really good modeling synths available that maybe have a few other instrument models like Piano that are equally as good?

...

Don't know about availability or prices over there, but it'd be worth your time to take a look at this:

http://www.kurzweilmusicsystems.com/Product.php?id=181

It's got a lot of great sounds out of the box, programmability is top notch, it makes an excellent controller if you later get some sound modules or use it with a computer, and its got aspects of the VA-1 synth which never got released.

"the best synth I can get for the money" is pretty vague for a whole lot of reasons.

What's most important to you? Stock sounds, programmability, the feel of the keybed/action, do you need a sequencer or sampling, do you really want a 'synth' or would you be better off with a rompler or workstation, are you going to use it to control anything else, how many keys do you want - I could go on, but you probably get the idea. ;)

People will give their opinion of the best synth for the money (for them) depending on how they answer those types of questions.

I'd say have a look at the youtube demos for the Kurzweil and Alesis Andromeda / Prophet 08 ; you'll only be able to the find the Andromeda second hand on ebay for your price, but it may be worth it. See how either suits your needs, and you may start to get a sense of what category of synth you're after. The Kurzweil is a rom-based digital synth with a large number of stock sounds; the andromeda, like the prophet 08, is a highly 'tweakable' analogue synth with less capacity for 'realistic' organ/piano/string sounds, and fewer controller options to work with other synths (and no sequencer for storing and organising your tracks).

I dont even know what im after really, I'll go with whatever catches my fantasy the most in the end. Im after something to add an extra dimention to my music really.

I really want a tweakable, really thick huge sounding synth, I dont care if theres no piano models atm, I can always get a digital piano at another time, so yeah. That A6 looks amazing, theres a store that has it at the same price as the Prophet 08... when everyone else has it

 Im so indecisive. I really cant make a choice on what to buy, so im thinking maybe I shouldnt be spending so much on something that I cant make my mind up on.

So i'm probably just gonna go buy a little fatty. Sure, its monophonic and small, but its under a grand and all I really wanted was a good synth to compliment my songs.

But {censored}, its monophonic... Maybe I will just buy a Prophet 08, the Andromeda at the shop is sold out and theyre not selling them anymore. I cant afford the

Will Do :thu:

I know it doesnt get rave reviews around here, but (especially after the callback) its really well priced, and the demo's I've heard are fantastic, plus, as its my first synth, I wont know if its {censored} anyway

I would mind one of those Little Fatty Moogs actually...

Reccomendation: - The UK company StudioXchange, AWESOME service. Placed my order and got a call 5 minutes later telling me they had one of the 08PE's in stock that had been taken out the box to show a client, barely used, as new, full warranty etc, and that he would knock a load of money off if I wanted that version, awesome service. The guy then said he had to go quickly cos the courier guy was there and he wanted to make sure my package was sent out with him to be with me tomorrow, its VERY rare you place an order at 5pm and its there the next day!

Dont hesitate to buy from those guys!
