Title says it all, or much of it.

I'm looking for a piano i can use at home for practice/playing. It has to be easy to use so my daughter and wife can turn it on and play it.

88 keys, built-in speakers is a plus, MIDI out, optional USB-power would be nice. Has to have good piano-sounds, strings and all that jazz ;)

Today i have an Edirol PCR-800 and i like the weight and feel of it. But it's too much of a hassle to power up the PC and software just to play some quick tunes. And i've discovered i need the extra octaves...

The cheapo M-audio prokey 88 looks good but i've heard some complaints about samples and build quality.

My price range is below $1000. And i'm not afraid to buy used :)

The M-Audio ProKeys 88 is a dog - avoid it. The Casio PX-330 appears to be the best deal in the sub-$1k piano range. It does everything you asked except get power from USB (it does have USB interface though) and it's lightweight with good action and sound.

What sub-$1k piano to buiy is the most asked question on this forum. This should be a sticky.

I played a Casio PX-330 at GC last weekend. I was blown away. Really want one.

My only problem- I think that it would be pretty easy to hit the wrong button.

Why do they insist on silkscreening tiny gray letters on a charcoal gray background? Did it ever occur to them that somebody may be using this on a dark stage?
