They have these on Amazon, cheap.

Problem is I ordered them in November, got them promptly, threw them in my gig bag. When I needed it last week, I discovered that it was mislabeled, and I got a female XLR end. Too much of a hassle to return it at that point. Wasn't Amazon's fault, it was the music store that shipped it out.

Geez, doesn't anybody solder their own anymore?

I have finally reached that point.

I can solder but have never made my own cables.

---I've spent waay too much money on cables.

---I've got places in my studio where I'm using a 15' cable where I only need 3'.

---And now, a burgeoning MOTM rig.

This year, I will buy no ready-made cables. Only bulk cable and connectors from Redco.

Every musician who plays electronic gear should learn to at least solder cables, should carry a soldering pencil, cutters, and solder in their gig bag, and should stay in practice enough to be able to repair a cable in an emergency situation.

It's not rocket science, and if you buy the right tools, it's pretty easy to do a good job.
