How to load JV patches into JD-990?

Hi. I am wondering, since JD-990 does have some waveforms that are directly from JV series, how it is possible to load JV patches into JD-990 when both uses different sysex? I heard JD-990 have JV-80 patch import feature, but isn't it only available via cards?

You could always enter each paramater manually, setting both up side by side.

Don't laugh. I had to do that for some of my favorite JV patches when I wanted them in a Fantom S. They share many of the same waveforms, and all the paramaters in a JV are in a Fantom. Of course there are a few more too ;)

I think there are conversion programs now but when I took on this task it was my only option.

If you know your gear you can manually transfer a patch in under 10 minutes. It's not that hard.

I know already that method, but as you can see from my gear, it's not an option. I have sysex files from jv but there's no way to be able to send it into JD-990. Does anyone know conversion program for JV/XP -> JD-990?

None that I'm aware of.

On the other hand, based on the JD and JV manuals, I once tried to make a decent conversion sheet for waveforms addresses in ROM between the JV-80, JV-1080 and JD-990. One could use a software editor to view the parameters side by side and try to match theses on the JD. Think ChangeIt!, MidiQuest, SoundDiver and the like.

:idk:

"...JD990 will load ... JV80 patches off a card only (SR-JV80, SO-PCM1, PN-JD80, PN-JV80, or M-256D/E). It cannot properly parse MIDI Sysex data in either format..."

from topic: JD-990 Patches

I remember someone, years ago, wrote all steps to copy one by one the paths to use in the JD-990, I gave a short search at the forum archive, as I don
