Members AnalogGuy
Hi. I am wondering, since JD-990 does have some waveforms that are directly from JV series, how it is possible to load JV patches into JD-990 when both uses different sysex? I heard JD-990 have JV-80 patch import feature, but isn't it only available via cards?
Members mrcpro
You could always enter each paramater manually, setting both up side by side. Don't laugh. I had to do that for some of my favorite JV patches when I wanted them in a Fantom S. They share many of the same waveforms, and all the paramaters in a JV are in a Fantom. Of course there are a few more too I think there are conversion programs now but when I took on this task it was my only option. If you know your gear you can manually transfer a patch in under 10 minutes. It's not that hard.

I have sysex files from jv but there's no way to be able to send it into JD-990. Does anyone know conversion program for JV/XP -> JD-990?

Does anyone know conversion program for JV/XP -> JD-990?None that I'm aware of. On the other hand, based on the JD and JV manuals, I once tried to make a decent conversion sheet for waveforms addresses in ROM between the JV-80, JV-1080 and JD-990. One could use a software editor to view the parameters side by side and try to match theses on the JD. Think ChangeIt!, MidiQuest, SoundDiver and the like. It cannot properly parse MIDI Sysex data in either format..." from topic: JD-990 Patches I remember someone, years ago, wrote all steps to copy one by one the paths to use in the JD-990, I gave a short search at the forum archive, as I don
