Putting speakers between synth and flightcase [S90XS]

Due to an 'inguinal hernia' I placed my beloved but heavvy Yamaha S90XS in the living room, instead of taking it upstairs after every gig and / or rehearsal (approx. 6 times a months). This also meant I wasn't able to play with my stereosystem anymore, but just with a headphone.

This solution works great -headphones are really clear-, but using a headphone is also constrictive and sometimes annoying due to the short cable.

Today I installed 2 little PC speakers (Creative Inspire T10, 2.0) and I connected them to my S90XS using the headphone jack, just for fun and to try things out. It was not too hard to distort the speakers, but nevertheless the experience was really nice! I placed the 2 speakers on the piano and I was surprised to actually feel the vibrations of the speakers in my hands / on the piano!

This reminded me of Yamaha's stagepianos with inbuilt speakers, like the CP300 and P250.

I started thinking: how can I replicate this feeling (and a bit the sound) without having to put anything on top of my S90XS? (it doesn't look cool and it is inconvenient)

The only remaining places would either be somewhere on the back of my S90XS, or on the bottom. Due to the fact that I have the S90XS almost 99% in a flightcase (top-lid), the bottom is actually an option. Between my flightcase and the S90XS' bottom there is approx. 1,4 inches of spare space).

Has anyone ever tried something like this? Or do you have useful suggestions?

Hi iFox90,

Back when I worked for
Generalmusic
we offered a home-style stand with built-in speakers:

I'm pretty sure these are long gone but if you like I'll check into it for you. Just let me know.

Best Regards,

Dave

Well, that's not exactly what I'm looking for, yet it's an interesting product! I'd like to be able to still use my V-Stand. So we're not there yet ;)

I've never thought about doing it, but I know what you mean. I remember just sitting down at a relatively cheap electronic piano with weighted keys and speakers one time and feeling the vibration in my fingers when I played really took me aback. Despite it being an el cheapo keyboard it had reasonably good weighting and the vibration made it seem a more realisitc playing experience than my old 88 key K2500X.
