Fantom X8- Patch/Performance Mode- Help?

Hey!

So I have a question that may seem dumb to experts but here goes..

(On my Roland Fantom X8)

When I go into patch mode and select a patch, and use the different knobs to alter the sound of the patch, why when I then go into performance mode (to record) does the sound not stay the same as after I changed it to my liking? Thanks in advance for any help!

That's because, for whatever Performance part you have the patch assigned to, you don't have the same effects for it. Go into the performance part's effects settings, and make sure it has the same effects settings as the patch. (In the editor software, you can "Edit -> copy" the whole effects page of the patch, then go to the Performance and "Edit -> paste"). So too, each performance part has some settings that can affect filter and amp settings. Make sure those are set to either off, or the same as the patch.

I still can't seem to figure it out though, I'm doing everything you say and they still sound different. If it isn't too much trouble, do you have a step-by-step kind of way you could explain it to me? thanks again-
