elektron analog four as an all-in-one track making station?

wondering what you guys think of the elektron analog four as an all-in-one track making machine.

i'm fairly new to the world of synths and would far prefer to keep a fairly minimal setup. this unit strikes me as a fairly versatile machine that would allow me to do majority of track creation in it. at most i'd maybe add a dedicated drum machine down the road and it seems like they'll be offering a polyphonic upgrade at some point down the road.

so what are your thoughts?

i'd mainly be using it for house music production, but also some more experimental ambient dub type stuff.

I've recently narrowed down my first synth search to Bass Station II or Analog Four. Minibrute got off the list when I decided I'd probably like to save and recall patches live. It appears to me that the Elektron has more variety as far as sequencing goes, something I prefer. Other than that and the 4 'voices', I haven't determined what other features should be a consideration to choose one over the other. I would also appreciate other people with more experience putting in their two cents worth.

one more question- hope it's not too stupid.

if i'm running a dac (specifically audiolab m-dac), would i bypass it when running the elektron and go straight into speakers or keep the dac in the chain?

The Analog Four is a brilliant machine.  I find it hard to put down and don't see why you couldn't track in the machine.  It's very versatile and yet simple.

Use of it has me putting off the purchase of a Sub Phatty or a Novation Bass Station II.  (Have yet to hear anything good coming out of the new Bass Station yet though.)
