His new album is phenomenal!!!! I haven't heard anything like it in quite some time. Just about everything that's out there on the radio are overproduced crap....crap that's just out there to make a buck. But DB new Cd is such a breath of fresh air! My personal opinion is that he's the best current honest and sincere songwriter out there now!

i thought it was crap compared to swiss army/placescometofear, and i absolutely love dashboard. His whole persona is modeled after songs he wrote after one big breakup, and it seems he's getting over it. Maybe he needs to get screwed over again.... and lose the electric guitar. Just my opinion, on the other hand, even a crappy dashboard cd smokes most cd's i've heard in the past two years...

Yes, that's true he only writes with a broken heart.......i guess he's got some issues to resolve....lol. But it's all good! I love his previous album as well, this one is alittle different but at the sametime i thought that he has matured quite a bit as songwriter. One of the things that i really admired him alot was that he did not depend or rely on the labels to help me break into the music industry....he's did it on his own terms and the way he wanted too ! I respect that alot from any artist! I use to be all wow out about getting signed but not as important now as it was before....i can do it over the internet like so many artist are doing. But anway......after being forced to hear crap after crap from the radio from bands like Limp biscuit, Corn, and many others that this stuff is was something music was missing.

i got this cd and it was in my cd player for weeks straight..i like it a lot...it's not TERRIBLY different than his previous work. the electric guitars are basically clean - so to me it's not a big deal. i like the "full band" sound because the drummer (mike marsh) comes up with great complementing beats...:)

I think the CD is alright.

The tunes are pretty good and I really admire Chris.!

I think his songs are very good but ... it's getting a little repetitive to me.! (Of course I still think he is great.!).

Also, the full band sound is really annoying in some songs.!

But it doesn't harm the CD in any way either.!

BTW, I still like Further Seems Forever first album more than any of Dashboard albums.! ;)

One of the things i do like about this album (and also what makes me like it less than other dashboard at the same time) is this: It's not as much of an emotional powerhouse... i know that sounds weird, but listening to the places that you have come to fear the most was an emotionally draining experience, this album brings you more subtuly (sp) through a variety of emotions... i'm listening to it right now, so i thought i'd find this thread and comment. :)

The places you have come to fear the most is an absolutely amazing album. Any artist would be hard pressed to come out with someone as good as that one. I think Its good that Chris didnt try to come out with another one like it. I think its good that he's exploring the new style, however, i dont really care for it as much.
