Members veil
I'm having a trouble finding a good basic vocal method on the internet, and was hoping some of you guys could point me in the right direction. I'm just trying to break away from singing alone in my car and learning the basic technique of a good singer. Any help?
Members Grant Sharkey
can't really point you in the right direction about singing from here - but I did find the 'in my car' technique to worl reallly well. I used to drive along to Ben Folds Five (stuff that is usually out of my range) and found my voice developing it's own tone after a few long journeys. Don't strain. Push the notes out from belly.Sing as loud as you can without shouting.Be emotional.Copy your favourites.Sing along to things you don't know. Hope it helps. (a couple of lessons with a local singing teacher really helps)
Members metalemo
I have bought a couple singing instruction books. For an overall kind of training for range and flexibility, I would say "set your voice free", by roger love. It has just a lot of great exercises, that really helped my understand my voice better. It works more on strengthening what you have both in your head and chest voice. Just my 2 cents. It should come w/ a CD.
