Members j-ro5000
I like lyrics that can have multiple meanings. Political commentary are cool, but sometimes it just seems like I paid 12 dollars for a bands soapbox cleverly disguised as a cd.I like political content, but I also like to understand their point of view. So, I usually look up what they are talking about and decide if I think it is right. Many times with the political it is an juvenile ideal that could never actually be realized.Rage against the machine is a perfect example. Actually try to do what they say in their lyrics in our modern society and see how much you actually acomplish. It is so easy to throw stones from your ivory tower when you are a multimillionair who rails against the status quo from a major label (Sony)Whoops! I just fell off of my soapbox.I like lyrics that deal with the universal human condition.Sorry about the rant.
Members Kearney09
James Maynard Keenan... i guess that goes with anything from the heart but the way he writes is just amazing... Because he uses lots of symbolism i gues you could say its an "interpret how you wish" type thing... yup

Members bluesway
i like frank and completely original ways of saying something. an elementarily simple phrase after a hugely in-depth passage, {censored} like that. it doesn't have to be laden in artistic language, full of pseudo-intellectual figurative language and literary devices learned in a 100 level intro to lit class in community college. ({censored}ing mythology references! - sick of that {censored}!) cliche isn't the easy rhyme, it's the easy reference/image. from my perspective, ben folds, john lennon, randy newman, ani difranco, people like that (although ani makes me want to castrate myself just for having something to cut off) . . . . . i'd still hit it, though! lol
Members CyanideChrist
Right now I'd have to say some of my favorite lyrics/vocals are off Floyd's DSOTM. The Great Gig In The Sky's vocal delivery is just...
