hi all, im building an les paul copy. i stained the body and neck the way i wanted it now i need to finish it. whatcha think spar urethane or poly urethane? also im doing the flamed top in a gloss but i want the back of the neck satin. everyone is telling me its gonna look like ass. i really hate gloss necks my hands stick to them. do you think if i do the body gloss the neck satin and the front of the headstock black gloss it would look bad? or should i do the front of the body gloss and the back of the body and neck satin? ill post some pics soon. also what do think should i put les paul on the headstock?

huh? anyway y not do the whole guitar satin or what i do have a gloss neck and just dont clean the neck it will get covered in stuff that makes it smooth and i dunno if it is bad for the guitar but you'll get used to having a gloss or u couls have it tung oiled and plain instead??

i cant use the tung oil now cause i allready stained it:mad: the can says it wont work ontop of stain. the body has a flame top and cream binding. what i did was stain the back of the body and the neck red mahogany and i stained the flame top a color i mixed from some stuff i had laying around. my plan i think is to do the top and the binding gloss. the back of the body and the neck i think im gonna do satin. then to get the gibson look i might do the headstock black with gloss clear over it. im not sure how its gonna look but i think im gonna give it a whirl.
