Members Musicmaestro
I'm switching out my standard MIM tele pickups to Fender's Noiseless SCN pickups. I've noticed on the Fender web site that these pickups use a different capisitor. Do I need to change the MIM capisitor to obtain the full benefit of the switch? What exactly does the capisitor do? Members jjegg
It changes the range of the sound(tone) spectrum. Changing them will give it a overall different tone range, one may give you more bottom end ,more treble, etc. If they recommend one, use it as the pickups may be designed with that cap in mind ,however I have seen many change around and experiment and find one they like. Heres some good reading . http://www.singlecoil.com/docs/caps.pdf
