Members beuoy
Just wondering if anyone knew where I can get a Electro Voice Diaphragm that would fit a Old as hell SH15-2 speaker? The driver just gave out. I just can't seem to fine the parts for a speaker that old. If someone even knows a part # or anything it would be a great help. I've had these for about twenty years and the are great for my practice room PA. Thanks,
Guest Anonymous
A lot of the old EV SRO speakers used the EVM series I and II type baskets but, had 100 watt cones/voice coils instead of 200 or 400 watt voice coils. You can go back with a 200 or 400 watt kit so the speaker will hold more power. If I could see the back of the speaker I will know for sure. PM me since I don't check this forum much. Members beuoy
I should of been more specific. I need the Diaphragm for the 1" compression driver. The 15"s work just fine. Thanks,
Members amp_surgeon
The Electro Voice part number for the diaphragm kit for the driver was 89588-XX, but I doubt you'll be able to get it from Electro Voice. That series has been orphaned. You can download a copy of the manual for the SH15-2 here (too big to attach to this post): http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/Speakers/EDS/SH15-2%20EDS.pdf You might try A Brown Soun in San Rafael, California. They repair a lot of old speakers, and also horn drivers. They've been the "go to" place for speaker repairs for a lot of big names since the 1970's. http://www.abrown.com/mf.html
