I write a weekly column for a local newspaper here in the Keys, and now and again, it turns to subjects of a musical nature (go figure). This is my column from a couple of weeks ago about Whitney Houston, posted here for your reading pleasure and discussion purposes. Now let me just slip into this flame-retardant suit... Tragedy Whitney Houston passed away the night before the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. She was there to take part in the music industry celebration that is the Grammy Awards, and had made appearances at a few related events. She even got on stage and sang with another performer the night before she died, and was seen by many apparently having a really good time (even if in a slightly altered state). And yet, the day before the awards program, Whitney was found dead in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton. Now the toxicology report has been released.
