I used a double bass set for years and it's set up just like I used to have my set just without the 2nd bass drum and it's comfortable for me.Mopzilla- How come the other members can see them? I posted the link for you in my prior thread, take a look when you get a chance.
Members braindonor35
Are those the maple/walnut combo shell? How do you think they sound? I'm looking for a new kit and always open for options.

Yes they are the Maple/Walnut shellAll though they came with Remo ambassadors (top & bottom) and a Power Stroke 3 BD head they sounded damn good, but I put on Aquarian heads, Super Kick II on the BD and Performace II's on the tom's (I left the bottom ambassadors). They sound way better with the Aquarian heads on. Belive me they sounded nice with the Remo heads but I had a Super Kick II on my old set and I tried a 10" perf. II on the tom and it sounded incredible so I replaced all the batters heads. I really like the tone from the drums and they sound really great and Mapex gives you the biggest bang for your buck I got the 6pc with hardware for a really good price, cheaper than the other brand's in this range and the finish is awesome i'd say check them out and they can be had for under $1600 (us)
