Members LANSTARR
Like, do you by brand A if u want this type of sound, and brand B if u want that type of sound? Or do they all essentially produce the same sound, and you have to tweak em? Or are there different types of drums that produce different sounds? Members Scheming Demon
Each drum manufacturer has it's own unique sound characteristics. Kind of like pizza. It's all made the same with the same ingredients but depending on where you go they taste slightly different. I have found that all top of the line kits sound very good with only slight variations in sound characteristics. It is then up to the individual purchaser what they like best for the price. Different type drums will produce different type sounds. There are many variables, the type of wood, the diameter, the depth, the bearing edge, the heads used and in some cases the interior finishing.
