Members ulank
Eats!! Very nice tune there (Oxygen)! You guys are good and solid all around, not just your drummer. Nice dynamics in the tune and very nice mix and recording.
Members furrtig
Bro, its great to see a guy in a band touting the tallents of his drummer. Im sure you already do this, but tell your drummer you posted here and tell him that you really think he's the man. You'd be surprised how many times we think someone is great, and they never know it. Compliments like that are free to those who give them, but priceless to those who hear them. rock on brother. Members eatsdrummachine
Bro, its great to see a guy in a band touting the tallents of his drummer. Im sure you already do this, but tell your drummer you posted here and tell him that you really think he's the man. thanks:) I'll tell him again, but like any good drummer confidence is not a promblem for him:D. as the singer/guitarist I usually bring the original ideas and arrangements. but the rythm guys always give the song guts- so the process generally includes shuffling the arrangement to get the most out of them- changing/simplifying the guitar to match to drums, and changing the dynamics to maximise rythm. I love working with these guys and have the utmost respect for them. but I should tell them that more for sure. he slugs his drums hard and looks for spots to intensify the song- but more importantly he just has a good 'we all look better if the song looks better' attitude. so he's not afraid to simplify when the song needs it. and that's a rare talent. BTW, eats, your bassplayer sucks!! yea he does! oh boy- we've got a great quote of him from an interview talking about how bassplayers lead the band musically. I think in alot of ways that's true. like I said- I feel like I can write a good song- but with band-negotiation and collaboration I know the songs are going to be better because these guys are good and have a song-first attitude. thanks for the comments- I'm just trying to have fun and not to take the unique situation I have for granted! hopefully I can play with these guys forever:) /johnny
Members ulank
That's an excellent situation you're in man. Good that you're enjoying it. I agree fully with you on "serving the song."
