Members slambang
I've been using Clear Emperors on my toms and have been very happy with their performance. Though, I've always loved the open sustain of a single ply head. This thinking has lead me to look for either a thicker single-ply or a thinner double-ply head. Ambassadors are single ply 10 mil films. Emperors are two ply 7 mil films (14mil total weight). I was wondering about Aquarian Double Thins. Does anyone know their film weight? Anyone currently use them and able to give a comparison between all three head types mentioned? Lastly I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this concept: Will a thicker single-ply head perform similarly to a thinner double-ply head. By this I mean, will equal total film weights perform similarly (14mil single ply = 7mil double ply). Maybe I should just perform the experiment myself. Hhhmmmmmm ....... Members ulank
You know, I was thinking about the Double Thins myself, but got the Response 2's since I'm familiar with those and am headed to the studio this weekend. I guess one thing to consider is how hard of a hitter you are. If you put a little cock in the rock, I'd try the double thins first. If you're a pretty easy going player, toss some fat single plies on there. If you do try the double thins, let me know how they work out.
