Members captainkey
My drums are set up here in my home studio along with a Roland V-Club kit....its simply not possible to practice on the real kit at all hours of the day, so I've been using the e-drums for kit practice and a moon gel pad for rudiment practice.... I feel the V-club kit has hampered my acoustic technique somewhat...its okay for sketching parts, but the feel is not there.. would a e-kit with mesh heads be a good way to simulate acoustic playing, or do the Sound OFF pads for acoustic drums work well also?? how do folks get around practicing kit playing quietly?? Members ShishKaboom!
I use Sound-Off's on drums only, not on cymbals,it seems to be the kick-drum vibration,snare-crack and tom resonance that carries most anyway,my neighbours have never complained... thankfully, heaven knows what it will be like when I get married tho as we will be a 2 drummer 3-4 kit household.
