Members Rain Dog
Course I'm still stuck at work. ARRRRRRRrrrrggggggg.... I just got a call from home saying UPS dropped off my big Musician's Fiend box. This is what I have waiting for me: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/443536/ I have Aquarian heads to put on it. Modern Vintage medium top and Aquarian snare resonator on the bottom. I have done the psudo-Bonham redesign to my kit and now that I have my new snare I will post some updated pictures. I still don't have the equipment to post sound but I'm working on it.

Members otacon28
nice looking man. i was wondering on the finish being a little darker in the stock photo. but the lighter natural wood appearance of it sets nicely with the other shells of your kit .. how do you like the wooden rims aspect playing and action wise as opposed to playing a metal hooped snare ?? now that you have both that is looks like it was a pretty sound investment for ya '
Members Rain Dog
I am going to play and tweak on them some more tonight. I will try to give a coherent review of them tomorrow. Couple of quick notes though. They are inexpensively but well made. What I mean by that is that the wood is nice and the finish on the shell is smooth and clear. There is no inner support rim. The shell is just straight up to the bevel. Good, Bad?? I dunno. The wood hoops seem to be unfinished. I think I am going to put several coats of tung oil on them this weekend. When I changed heads I noticed that there were no snare beds. The bevel is the same all the way around. I am getting a snare buzz that I can't seem to adjust out. I am going through P. Sound's brilliant site. I think this snare may have a greater potential with some intelligent tweaking. Overall for $200 shipped I am happy with the product.
