Members El Glom-o
And I can't wait to use them at practice tomorrow! In the little bit that I played with them last night, I was totally pleased. The bass drum pedals feel like my old Speed King, but better. Nothing else that I tried felt at all like the Speed King. I can't imagine how much more I'll like them once I've had a chance to play them some more and get them adjusted exactly right. The hi-hat is very nice, too. It doesn't seem to be quite as sturdy and rigid as my Keith-Moon-proof Premier, and the down stroke doesn't seem to be any smoother, but the upstroke doesn't have that annoying bump at the end of its travel that makes the cymbal ring. The clutch is a very nice design that uses rubber bumpers instead of felt rings. Maybe I'll be replacing my cymbal and snare drum stands with Axis gear before too long. I haven't had a chance to try out my Axis hi-hat yet, so I can't vouch for that. I wouldn't bother with the snare and cymbal stands, they look funky and are expensive as hell. All of the Axis gear is rather pricey, that's for sure. I like the look of the Axis gear, but I'd have to see the stands in the flesh before making a decision. As it was, the only Axis gear I was able to check out before ordering the A2 pedals and the hi-hat was an Axis X single pedal. But that was enough to convince me that Axis was the best choice for replacing my Speed King. Even though I didn't get to try the hi-hat, I was impressed enough by the pedals to give it a try sight unseen.

I really like the "machined from 6061 billet" look. It looks like some piece of hardware that I might have designed as part of my work.
