Roc n Soc Question

I think I'm gonna get the Roc. I went to guitar center yesterday to test them (Roc vs. Pork Pie) both. I liked the Roc much better... incredibly comfortable. The Pork Pie was nice, and I think that most people seemed to like it more than the Roc. But I felt that the Roc was not only more comfortable but also seemed to be better built... more solid.

Anyways. Does anyone know the difference b/t the Nitro Hydrolic and the Nitro NRG hydrolic? Do they have the same bounce? One is $10 more and I cant seem to be able to differentiate b/t the two. I've checked online to no avail.

Also, the one I tested was the Lunar. But I think that I want the Nitro b/c it's base will collapse. Does anyone know if the Nitro has more bounce than the Lunar. Is it much different or do they just have different bases?

Hi Rik,

You doing specify whether you want the round or the motorcycle seat type throne. I got to spend a lot of quality time with a roc bike seat and a pork pie round seat. I liked, and kept, the pork pie. Here's why: With the pork pie round throne, no matter how you sit down, it will feel the same on all sides. With the roc, you only get a few seating positions (the forward to back on how you sit) and it's a pretty hard seat. Also, the pork pie has a clamping height lock (anti-spin).. the rock just has a bolt going through that tightens and could get stuck easily.

If you are decided on the roc, and you can't tell the difference in $10 then go for the cheap one.. if you can't tell the difference.

I think a lot of people like the Pork Pies because when everything else is relatively equal, the Pork Pie ones come in fancy designs. They'd rather have a leopard skin covered seat than a plain black one.

I really don't care much. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the difference between the models. Maybe they have more info on the website. Either way, Roc makes good stuff. You won't be disappointed.
