Members pljones
Okay... I guess there's a first time for everyone... I dreamt about an article in (UK's) Rhythm magazine - issue 119, Independence Day #22 - and just had to give it a go. Ride bell, snare, kick, hihat all grooving. That was yesterday. Just can shake it off now... The best bit was that it just clicked: I'd tried nailing it before and been so sloppy I'd given up. I guess my brain's been working on it for a month or so . Today I even managed to move from a straight back beat, into a full on ride bell section for 16 bars, then back (okay, so I f**ked up getting back...)... Members ArtVandelay
Sort of like a technique that athletes use before a game. Visualization. They sort of meditate (not true meditation but similar) and visualize what they want to do in the upcoming game. It could be a big thing like hitting a home run or just fine-tuning the mechanics of something. It's a technique that seems a little sketchy, but if you really focus, it can help a lot. Dreaming about something is probably very similar but on a subconcsious level.
