LOOKING FOR A SOUTHERN GOSPEL GIG.

I think the ongoing problem with major southern gospel acts, is that there arent any touring who use a drummer. Ive seen the Gaithers use a real band, but most of the big names Ive seen, and Ive been to the Southern Gospel Quartet Conventions in California, both in Sacramento and Fresno, and ........ well, they sing to canned crap for the most part. A lot of small time, local type groups are doing the same thing. Around here, in the southern gospel music circles I play in, theres better than a dozen groups with canned music for every one group who does it for real. The genre is dying it seems. Good luck.

PHLLP, ThePloughman is right most of the southern gospel groups use tracks and not a live band. That is why the group I am going to start playing for was looking for musicians too along with vocalist because they wanted to have a live band and not use tracks like all the other groups. I found this group starting from an jobs section on singingnews.com. That is how I got connected with the group I am about to play with.
