Members Carminemw
Crashes before splashes. And the sounds should compliment your playing genre. Like if you're playing light stuff, forego the heavy crashes that ring a ton. Splashes are for accenting and accentuating. You really should go and test them out to hear what you like, then figure out the money aspect...
Members BLS_1
get a crash or 2 and a ride cymbal. everyone will suggest their own good beginning cymbals. i would suggest Zildjian ZHT's or Sabian AA's. they are more of an intermediate level cymbal compared to the beginner ones. Sizes are the next thing to decide on. A 20 or 21 inch ride is pretty much standard. Crashes i would suggest 16" - 18". Put up some pics of the set if you got a chance too.
