Members Hope Drums
There has been some discussion recently about the Ludwig Acrolites...I have an uncle who is also a drummer and when he found out that I like the Acrolite, he gave me one that he found at a flea market. I stripped it down, had it painted a sparkle black (auto paint), added tube lugs, updated to the newer style P85, new tension rods, new hoops, new heads. I have not replaced the badge yet, I can't decide if I am going to stay with the blue/olive or if I am going with the retro look of the older brass one. The pictures don't do it justice, it looks very similar to the Black Beauty at about 1/2 the cost. I have about $150 in it. Sounds awesome!! Members Thingfish
I always liked the blue/olive badge better, but you let your heart be your guide. Oh, and by the way, there is always talk around these parts about the acrolite.
Members devinw
I think I have one of those snare drums at my mom and pop's house. I need to dig that thing out.

From a geezer. No matter what you might come up with to the contrary: Keystone IS best. To me, any other logo indicates a shift in corporate direction that dictated design changes by marketing bozos and bean counters striving to optimize profits to the detriment of the brand. Members controlledburn
That's a sweet lookin' drum! I play a keystone badge Acro I found used a few years ago. For some reason, it had a cheap non-Ludwig snare stariner, which I replaced with a P-85. It's been my main snare ever since. But that black paint and the tube lugs - with an Acro sound - has gotta be fantastic.
