Members PM2000
I am looking for advice regarding an inexpensive electronic drum kit. I want to get my chops back after a long hiatus as well as teach my children how to play. The least expensive one I found so far ($299.95) is the Ion Audio iED01, but from all acounts I have seen it is terrible. Any ideas?
Members D Carroll
raise you price. anything under 700 will be {censored}. you might be able to get a used acoustic set, and practice pads...
Members controlledburn
Definitely gotta raise your price. I think $600 is the absolute minimum for anything new ekit-wise, and even that is sketchy. I have the low-end (until recently) Roland kit - the TD-3, which is perfect for my need for quiet home practice and kids' bangin' around, got a floor model for $700, but wouldn't go any lower. Do a search on this site and vdrums.com for more info - there's been lots of discussion on this topic.
Members Dark Slide
http://derksens.com/Beatnik_mirror.htm Otherwise, you need to raise your price. A module alone will cost you a couple hundred.
Members Zeromus-X
Alesis DM5PRO kit is as cheap as I'd probably get. I have the standard DM5 kit and it's small-time gig-able, but I still don't trust it.
Members PM2000
The Alesis was what I have been looking at. I know thatthe Ion was too cheap, and anything at that price would be. I'm not looking for a set to gig with - I would refurbish my old Slingerland set for that. I just want something that sounds good through headphones that I can practice and teach with.
