Members Drumstix61
:wave:Dudes... Bear with me... I bought a 12" Wuhan Splash. 3 years ago...For $11 dollars US...new. I never put it on my kit till 3 weeks ago... Gawd I love the sound of it! i secretely love to ride on it! So, evrytime I "crash" it, it goes on a "funny" angle, away from me. So I take it off to check the felts and put it on my pinky finger and,... It almost falls off from the amount of weight difference from side to side It feels like it weighs another pound on one side. If I cranked the top wingnut down it would stay in place but not take much of a beating. Options and Polite Responses Appreciated:mad: HELP! Anyone familiar with Wuhans return policy? Just mail it to China? It was purchased at GC but I don't think I can find the receipt....
Members zarazabas
You bought it 3 years ago.... i doubt you could still return it. Plus, you love the sound of it, so who cares if it's unbalanced? Can you just sit it on your stand at a different angle? (example - tilt it so the heavy side hangs down). If you return it for a more balanced one, you might not like the sound of the new one. Oh, and, $11?? That's nothing! Forget about returning it, just deal with it, or buy a new one. I'm pretty sure you'll never get a refund on an $11 item bought 3 years ago anyway.
Members D Carroll
thats true. i would turn the boom stand upside down, and hang it straight... then it would have no angle to turn.

Members genghiskog
Just curious - can you hear any difference between when you hit the heavy side and the lighter side?

Members cearleywine
these are relatively cheap. It will allow you to have it tight without the risk of damage.
Members Kirk Markarian
Use a smaller felt, or modify the ones you have. Then, when you put it on the stand, angle the chinar one or two clicks towards you - clicks as in "gear teeth". The heavy side will fall towards you, and letting it hang a little loose will allow it to live longer. $11 is really not a huge deal as far as cymbal costs go. Mailing it to Chinar would be more costly than just buying another cymbal. Srsly.
Members Carminemw
thats true. i would turn the boom stand upside down, and hang it straight... then it would have no angle to turn. +10 Turn it upside down and let it flop free. It's physics man! If the cymbal dips to the heavy side, rotate the boom arm. It will always go to it's heaviest lowest point. 3 years? Are you kidding me? Return? Members whatsaguitar
i work at zildjian and know about this {censored} sadly. its due from poor manufacturing and being hand hammered. back in the day when you spin a cymbal on the stand it makes one side heavier. the better cymbals like sabian or zildjian dont spin

Members whatsaguitar
the heavy side is normally the dead and bad sounding side of the cymbal. its not really the 'sweet' spot
Members OuttaTime
If your dead set on returning it, heres what you do. First, does GC still carry the same model of cymbal? If so, purchase a brand new one, and take it home. Then, in a few days, return the old one with the new reciept. Genius, I know......
