Members kadrocker
My friend is going home to Vietnam to visit family for a month. He's letting me borrow his drum set while he's away. It's only been 10 days and WOW! I'm definitely getting my own set! I never knew drums could be so much fun! Oh my gosh! I LOVE IT! After like an hour of playing I'm damn near getting a workout! I started off with some Weezer to get the feel for drums. Got their stuff down in a day or two. I keep going through the ipod (with headphones)trying to drum along to some of my favorite bands. Offspring and Metallica have me licked! I can't figure their stuff out at all! Maybe in a few weeks I'll have it down. (Weezer, Offspring, and Metallica are my fav bands) My favorite stuff to drum along to is Buckcherry's first album. Lit Up gets me going! I can actually play the whole song without missing a beat. The drumset I'm borrowing is a Pearl Soundcheck series. I think I might buy the same thing, we'll see. I also have a new respect for drummers, never new it was so hard! Members Thomas G
OOH! OOH! OOH! I'm a HUGE Offspring fan! DId you get their new album? IT'S SOOO GOOOOOOD!!!! *ahem* Yeah. Welcome to the wonderful world of drumming! Before you buy a kit, be sure to come back here to get the Harmony central drum forum seal of approval to make you are getting a good deal. btw, you may want to look into Tama drums as well. Both Lars Ulrich and Ron Welty play Tama drums, and you really can't go wrong with any of their kits. They also both play Zildjian cymbals, which is always a good choice (as long as you don't buy the ZBT's). Congrats on your new discovery!
Members kadrocker
Yup, I bought the new album, it's great! I wanna try to figure out some Offspring songs, but he's a pretty busy drummer! He (Ron) has a lot going on. I'm slowly figuring it out. I can half-ass drum along to Sad But True, Lars must have a HUGE kit, because he's got TONS of different sounds. I don't think I have enough toms to play Metallica stuff! haha
Members Thomas G
Well, for The Offspring, I'm sure you could handle songs like Special Delivery, Come Out and Play, Hit That, and Maybe Defy You. Those are good ones to start off with. Also, seriously consider taking lessons. They help out more than you can imagine.

Members Thomas G
Sweet. The cool thing about drumming with The Offspring is they have songs that range from very beginner to insanely hard (Tehran and Lightning Rod). Stuff to practice with and build up to for many many years. That's definitely what I did.
