I lack the hardware to complete the drums and a lathe to perfectly round the insides (I might be able to use a drum sander attachment on my shopsmith...?), but I've often thought of it......kit style stave drums are cleaned out and rounded on the insides right?

I'd like to try a BD or Snare sometime and get the hardware from Riolo or the net , just for shiggles.

Yeah, you need a good sized lathe. Inside and out. But that's probably all you'd need.

I'd really like to have a big lathe , a guy can make a lot of money with a big lathe.......that said lathes scare the {censored} out of me , I'll run just about any power tool , I love tools , I love lathes , but in all honesty lathes scare the crap out of me......still I really really want one.

Oh yeah and thanks for the feedback on the shakers , they're pretty sweet.

I am a very satisfied customer of said shaker from Slaphappydrums. it is quite the handsome shaker and yes, it is loud. My old lady has told me so numerous times. She does that a lot about things I own, so I figure she has to be an expert on decible levels. The amazing thing is I had absolutly no idea when I married her. The things we are unknownly blessed with in life.

Buy a Slaphappy Shaker!
