Ronnie James Dio

I'm practicing "Rainbow In The Dark", planning a little show on the street in honor of the great artist. I think Ronnie James Dio has a great voice for metal music.

I remember reading that Ronnie James Dio played trumpet. I wonder if playing a wind instrument could help me become a better singer, strengthen my chest, increase my lung power.

Sure, playing a wind instrument will help your lungs, which translates to (slightly) better volume and comfort in singing. Harmonica is the easiest to try.

Back OT about Ronnie Dio. A few of Ronnie's early bands played in our area (North Eastern PA) WAY back in the early days. I remember hearing of the first band that he had that came to our town, called Ronnie Dio and the Prophets. I never heard that band, I was too young to get into bars back when that group was together. I do remember running into The Electric Elves in the later sixties when the band I was in opened for them several times in venues in NE and central PA. Back then, we thought they were great. They shortened their name to Elves and then to Elf later on. The rest you can read about on-line.
