Members e021708
My wife is thinking of getting me a video camera for Christmas. Just curious If those of you that are uploading to Youtube are using anything special? What is a good setup? Maybe just a good web cam is enough. However, I see many guys have some nicer looking video and sound quality than others.
Members Jersey Jack
The video on Youtube is not great quality, so a web-cam is fine. More difficult--I may have raised this issue here before, I can't recall--is getting some sweetening on your voice. Using a lot of reverb will make your performance seem artificial, of course--especially on a video obviously recorded in one's bedroom; but without a little bit of 'verb most folks' vocals really suffer. Adding some vocal processing to video is the challenging part, and I still haven't quite figured out how to do it.
Members saberry
YouTube allows better quality (larger) uploads than they used to, even HD, so a video camera will allow you to get better resolution than a web cam. I would look for a video camera that will allow you to add a better mic than the one that is built in to the camcorder or at least make sure the one you get does a good job with the audio.
